After spending a year with your classmates, it is customary to send Christmas gifts for classmates to commemorate the end of the school year.
1. Bon-Bons
Bon-bons are a fun way to celebrate Christmas that is unique to this time of year. Classmates can combine them and retrieve the "goodies" from within. Most stores will sell these for a reasonable price. You can easily personalize them as well... "Wishing You A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."
2. Bubble Wands
Who doesn't enjoy blowing bubbles? I brought a bubble wand to school to pick up the other day to entertain my two-year-old while we waited and was quickly surrounded by ten-year-old boys all jumping around trying to pop them. Most department stores sell these for one dollar. You can even include a tag that says "Merry Christmas." I hope your holiday "bubbles" with joy!"
3. Graduation Hats
These are fantastic for graduating students. A tube of M&M's, some colored paper (matching your uniform color would be ideal! ), some black cardboard, a split-pin, and string are all you need. We have also added the year with stickers.
4. Personalized Class Word Searches
In previous years, I made a Word Search for my son's class, using his classmates' first names as the "words" to find. You can easily create these using Discovery Education's Puzzle Maker tool, which can be found here.
5. Baubles
This is a fun idea – simply write the classmate’s name and the year on a bauble with a permanent marker and they can use it as a memento year after year.
6. Furry Friends
Add a simple slipcover to these individually wrapped chocolates to make them more personal. We wrapped them in Christmas paper first, then added this "Have a Beary Merry Christmas!" tag.
7. Playdoh
If you have younger children, a single pot of playdoh is still a lot of fun for them to play with and create with. If your house is anything like ours, a new pot of "not dried out" playdough is always welcome.
8. Christmas Coloring-in Sheets
A simple coloring sheet is charming. There are numerous free Christmas coloring pages available online. Print enough for the class, roll it up as a scroll, tie it with string, and you're ready to go!
9. Lolly bags
Small lolly bags filled with red and green M&Ms are festive and fun.
(The skinny clear cellophane bags we used here are easily found online.)
10. Biscuits with Holly
These are simple to make and distribute to classmates on the final day. You can make your own biscuits or buy them from the store. We used white tic-tac biscuits and simply topped them with spearmint leaves and a jaffa dipped in white icing.
11. Snowman Hot Chocolate Gift
These are super cute and simple end-of-year class gifts to make as a tasty treat for each child in the class.
This is perfect for Christmas or winter, but if you have a summer Christmas as we do in Australia, this Snowman hot chocolate is a fun festive gift idea for kids.
You could decorate snowman cups with whatever you want. It is not required to be hot chocolate. Candy, craft supplies, gourmet popcorn, a handwritten note, or anything else that comes to mind could be included.
12. Pom Pom Christmas Decoration
These festive pom Christmas bauble ornaments are easy to make and look great hanging on the tree. You could also include each child's name as an extra touch.
13. Salt Dough Ornaments
Making a simple, yet beautiful salt dough ornament for kids to decorate their family Christmas tree is one of the simplest DIY class gift ideas. These are embellished with rubber stamps and twine.
14. Personalized Photo Christmas Cards
These candy cane photo Christmas cards are a quick and easy alternative to a novelty Christmas card. Make them with your children and distribute them to their friends.
They will enjoy taking silly photos to share with their friends. These are excellent small gift ideas for classmates, and they are very inexpensive, especially if you can print them at home!
15. Gingerbread Bath Bomb
Kids enjoy bath time, so make it even more enjoyable by giving them each a festive scented bath bomb to take home. They'll smell good enough to eat later!
These are adorable! Wrap one or two gingerbread bath bombs in cellophane and tie with a ribbon as a gift.
16. Homespun Fabric Tree Ornament
Something for the tree adds a special touch to a year-end Christmas gift, and these fabric tree ornaments are a great way to use up old fabric scraps if you have a lot on hand.
17. Pom Pom Snowball Kit
For those of us who don't live in a snowy climate, these pom snowball kits will be hilarious fun for school kids to play together or to take home and play with siblings. This is a cute and one-of-a-kind gift idea!
18. DIY Christmas Cracker
Make a handmade Christmas cracker for each child in the class as a fun gift they can take home to open with family or in class. This is a simple craft that the kids can make for their friends, and you can fill them with whatever you want.
19. Handmade Christmas Cards
If you want to keep it simple yet personal, a handmade card is a special item to receive. It is also very easy to make and a budget-friendly option for class gifts. Plus, by adding a Christmas message to each card for their friends, your children will get extra writing practice.
20. Reindeer Hot Chocolate
Another cute hot chocolate treat idea is this reindeer hot chocolate. Because we all love Rudolph, this is a cute sweet treat class gift idea from teachers or classmates.
21. Candy Cane Lip Balm
This is the cutest thing ever! What a clever way to transform a simple lip balm into a festive gift! Boys and girls alike require hydrated lips. And the kids will be eager to use their fun new candy cane lip balm to prevent dry lips!
22. Fluffy Santa Slime
Slime is popular among children. These slime jars are a fun activity for your kids to participate in, as well as a unique gift for their classmates!
To keep costs down, use smaller jars or containers for your gifts, or collect and recycle jars throughout the year. Let's face it: when you're handing out slime, you (or your child) will be the coolest person around!
You can also use any of these simple slime recipes.
23. Edible Cookie Stack Ornaments
These cookie stack ornaments are simple to make, enjoyable to give, and delicious to eat! You only need a set of star cookie cutters and your favorite Christmas sugar cookie recipe to get started.
24. Paper Star Ornament
Allow the children to assist you in making a lovely paper star ornament for each of their schoolmates. This paper Christmas decoration looks great hanging on the tree.
25. Clay Miniatures
Kids enjoy small toys that encourage their imagination, and these clay miniatures were a lot of fun to make with my kids over the summer. For pretend play, you can make tiny foods like ours.
For end-of-the-year gifts, consider something Christmas-themed, such as a small clay Christmas tree or flat Christmas shapes. Try stringing them to make mini Christmas tree decorations!
26. Homemade Bird Feeder
Handmade bird feeders make a thoughtful gift for children. Learning about nature is a wonderful experience for children, and they will be delighted when they see birds coming in to nibble on their functional gift. The best part about this gift is that it encourages children to go outside and be kind to nature.
27. DIY Friendship Bracelets
This is another project we completed recently during the school holidays, and my children have since made several different yarn bracelet colors for themselves.
28. Salt Dough Ornaments
Making ornaments for your tree with salt dough is a popular Christmas activity. It can also be an excellent and inexpensive class gift idea for your children to assist with. How cool are these sparkly glitter ornaments?
29. Rudolf Tealight Ornament With Blinking Nose
Because of the flashing Rudolph nose, these Rudolph tealight ornament gifts are sure to be a hit with school children! So imaginative and simple to make with your child. This is something that older children could do on their own.
30. Snow Globe Tree Ornament
Handmade ornaments can look out of place on the tree at times, but this snow globe bauble is so pretty that it will look like it belongs, and even the parents will appreciate their school children bringing one of these homes for the tree at the end of the year.
This would also make a lovely class craft project for teachers.
31. No-Bake Spice Ornaments
A gift that brings the scent of the holiday season into your home is sure to be a hit! These spice ornaments are no-bake, making them ideal for children's craft activities.

37. Colorful Beaded Bracelets
With these beaded bracelets, you can make personalized homemade gifts for your classmates. Make a bracelet with each class member's name on it for a fun keepsake they can wear. Because you can buy bulk colored and alphabet bead sets, this is a low-cost Christmas gift idea for classmates.
38. DIY Picture Frames
Make a paper photo frame for each child as an inexpensive and simple DIY class Christmas gift. This is so simple that your children can do it with little assistance from you.
